Hibiscus Simple Syrup

Hibiscus simple syrup is a sugar syrup with tart and floral notes. Add it to your favorite drinks: mocktails, cocktails, and desserts or baked goods. This tea-infused syrup is easy to make and only requires two simple ingredients.

Instructions

  • Heat the water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Constantly stir until the sugar dissolves, then add the tea bags or loose leaf tea.
  • Reduce to medium low heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the tea bags (or strain the loose tea).
  • Let the syrup cool to room temperature before storing it in the fridge for at least an hour before using.

Makes about 1 ¼ cups.
