Blackened cod fish tacos are rubbed with homemade blackened seasoning, sauteed until the fish flakes easily, and topped with an apple cabbage slaw. This easy recipe is dairy free and gluten free.
In a small bowl, whisk together the seasoning ingredients until well combined.
Pat the fish dry on both sides with a paper towel then add them to a large bowl. Mix with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and lime juice, then generously rub the blackened seasoning over all sides of the fish fillets.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat with the other tablespoon of oil.
Add the seasoned fillets to the hot skillet. Cook on each side for 2-3 minutes depending on the thickness of the fish. Serve on warm tortillas. Topped with slaw and fresh lime wedges.
Notes
The seasoning mix makes 2.5 tablespoons if using store-bought.See the blog post for helpful tips, storage, and recipe FAQs.
