How to Make Mediterranean Pizza: Step By Step

Here are some quick visual instructions. The full instructions and ingredient list will be in the printable recipe card below!

  1. Preheat oven. Preheat your oven to 500°F/260°C and place a pizza stone or an inverted rimmed baking sheet on the middle oven rack.
  2. Roll out dough. On a lightly floured surface, roll out your pizza dough into a thin, circular shape then transfer it to a pizza peel or preheated baking sheet dusted with flour or corn meal.
  3. Add sauce. Use the back of a spoon to spread a thin layer of the sauce onto the dough, leaving about ½-inch space around the edges.
  4. Add toppings. Start with the cheese then add the rest of the toppings (minus the basil).
  5. Bake. Bake in the preheated oven for about 7-10 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  6. Garnish. Top with torn basil leaves then cut into slices.

Helpful Tips

  • For even more flavor, use marinated artichoke hearts.

Quick Tip: Make a batch of homemade pizza dough ahead of time and store it in the fridge or freezer. If frozen, let thaw in the fridge overnight. Remove it from the fridge and let it sit on the countertop covered with a tea towel until it comes to room temperature. It’s my best kept secret for making the best homemade pizza quick and easily. It’s infinitely better than a pre-made pizza crust.

Storage

Store leftover pizza in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
