Ingredients
Here’s what you’ll need to make this sparkling cranberry mocktail:
- Homemade ginger simple syrup – granulated sugar (I used organic cane sugar), water, and fresh ginger.
- Unsweetened cranberry juice – often labeled as 100% cranberry juice.
- Orange juice – freshly squeezed is best.
- Ice cubes
- Club soda
- Garnishes – fresh cranberries, orange slices, or fresh herbs such as rosemary sprigs or fresh mint leaves.
How to Make Cranberry Mocktail: Step By Step
Here are some quick visual instructions. The full instructions and ingredient list will be in the printable recipe card below!
1. Heat the water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium-high heat, and stir until the sugar dissolves.
2. Reduce the heat to a simmer, add the fresh ginger pieces, and simmer for ten minutes while stirring occasionally.
3. Transfer the infused simple syrup with ginger to a blender. Blend until completely smooth then pour the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve and let it cool to room temperature. Let chill before using.
4. Mix the tart cranberry juice, orange juice, and ginger simple syrup in the bottom of a lowball or highball glass until well combined.
5. Add ice and fill the glass the rest of the way with sparkling water. Serve with an orange wedge, fresh or frozen cranberries, and a sprig of fresh rosemary.
Helpful Tips
- If using a cranberry juice blend with added sugar, use less ginger simple syrup so it’s not overly sweet.
- You don’t need a cocktail shaker to make this fun holiday mocktail recipe.
- If you don’t have a powerful blender or you don’t want to dirty a blender, you can grate the ginger into the simple syrup instead and then strain it out.
Quick Tip: Make the ginger simple syrup ahead so it has time to chill before using.
