How to Make Asian Shrimp Tacos: Step By Step

Here are some quick visual instructions. The full instructions and ingredient list will be in the printable recipe card below!

1. Make the marinade. Whisk the marinade in a small bowl then toss the shrimp in. Let the shrimp marinate for at least 15 minutes.

2. Cook the shrimp. Heat a large skillet over medium heat with olive oil. Once hot, arrange the saucy shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.

Helpful Tips

  • Use a cast iron skillet instead of a nonstick skillet to cook the shrimp. This will help the marinade caramelize nicely on the outside of the shrimp.
  • Serve with taco fixings such as a creamy sauce like my 2 minute kimchi mayo or Japanese spicy mayo sauce and a crunchy cabbage slaw, or fruit salsa such as corn mango salsa
  • If using corn tortillas, warm them up in a skillet first to make them more pliable.

Quick Tip: If your shrimp are small, cook them for 1-2 minutes on each side, otherwise they’ll overcook and become tough.

Storage

Store tacos in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Assemble just before serving.

Oh man was this ever so good! And fast! And I always appreciate the substitutions. I didn’t have any limes so I used rice vinegar and it worked perfectly. These were delicious!!
