Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make cherry mango ice pops:

  • Frozen cherries – you can also use fresh cherries but this option is more time-consuming since you’ll need to remove the cherry pits first.
  • Frozen or fresh mango – I used frozen mango for ease.
  • Coconut water – adds subtle sweetness and helps blend the fruit.

How to Make Cherry Mango Popsicles: Step By Step

Here are some quick visual instructions. The full instructions and ingredient list will be in the printable recipe card below!

1. Add the cherries, mango chunks, and coconut water to a blender and blend until completely smooth.

2. Pour the cherry mango puree into popsicle molds. If using wooden sticks, freeze the popsicles for an hour first before you insert the sticks. This will help keep the popsicle sticks in place. Then put them back in the freezer until completely frozen (about 6 hours in total).

Helpful Tips

  • If you want them sweeter, add 1-2 tablespoons of sweetener such as honey, maple syrup, or organic cane sugar until you’ve reached your desired sweetness.
  • Make layered popsicles. First, blend the mango layer, pour it into the popsicle mold, and freeze it for 30 minutes before adding the cherry layer to create distinct layers.
  • Make mango cherry swirl popsicles. First, blend the mango mixture and pour it into the mold then blend the cherry mixture and pour it on top of the mango. Use a chopstick to swirl the layers together. Then freeze for an hour before inserting wooden popsicle sticks (if using) before freezing completely.
  • If you want the mango flavor to come through more, swap the amount of fruit. More mango than cherry.

Quick Tip: If your blender isn’t very powerful, you may want to use fresh fruit or let the frozen fruit thaw to make it easier to blend.

Storage

Once completely frozen, store the popsicles in the mold if eating them within the week.

To store them longer, wrap each popsicle in parchment paper and store them in a freezer-safe bag until ready to enjoy. The parchment paper will prevent them from getting stuck together.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you remove popsicles from the popsicle mold?

You can place the popsicle mold in a bowl filled with lukewarm water for about 15-20 seconds OR run lukewarm water over the molds until you can easily release the popsicles. Whichever method you choose, make sure the water is only on the popsicle mold, because you don’t want it to get on the popsicle itself.

What else can you use besides popsicle molds?

You can still make these cherry popsicles even if you don’t have a popsicle mold. Other ways to make popsicles are using small paper cups, a muffin tin, or a loaf pan.
