Ingredients

  • Fresh jalapeño pepper
  • Yellow onion
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • Garlic cloves
  • Fresh lime juice
  • Kosher salt

How to Make Trader Joe’s Peach Salsa: Step By Step

Here are some quick visual instructions. The full instructions and ingredient list will be in the printable recipe card below!

  1. Mix. Combine all the ingredients together in a large bowl until evenly distributed. Season to taste with kosher salt.
  2. Chill and serve. Let chill for at least 20 minutes for the best flavor. Serve with tortilla chips or as a topper for tacos, bowls, burgers, grilled fish or chicken, etc.

Helpful Tips

  • Let the salsa sit in the fridge for about 20-30 minutes before you eat it. This not only helps the flavors meld together but also helps the lime juice soak into the onion, which takes the raw edge off (great for those who don’t like raw onions).
  • Use freestone peaches, not clingstone. With freestone, the flesh is not attached to the pit, which makes for easy removal.
  • If you want a finer salsa consistency, pulse the ingredients in a food processor, just don’t blend or you’ll have a puree.

Quick Tip: Easily adjust the spice level by adding adding additional adobo sauce or chipotle peppers.

Storage

Store the salsa in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Please remember that recipes are just a starting point.

How can you make this Trader Joe’s copycat peach salsa using what you already have? Here are some ideas…

  • No roma tomatoes? – use another variety such as beef steak, vine, campari, heirloom, etc.
  • No jalapeno pepper? – use another type of pepper. If you don’t like spice, you can use a bell pepper for added flavor. I’d use red or orange.
  • No yellow onion? – you can also use red onion or shallot.
  • Don’t like cilantro? – use flat leaf parsley, chives, or omit completely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to peel the peaches for salsa?

No, the skin can be left on the peaches. It adds more texture and color.

How can I make this Trader Joe’s peach salsa spicier?

I’d recommend adding additional adobo peppers or adobo sauce one teaspoon at a time until you’ve reached your desired spiciness level.
