Tangy Grape Salad

Grape salad is a fruit forward salad with a tangy citrus dressing and fresh herbs. Unlike traditional grape salads, this one has a bright, fresh flavor because there’s no cream cheese or sour cream to weigh it down.

Make It Your Way: Substitutions & Variations

Please remember that recipes are just a starting point.

How can you make this grape salad recipe using what you already have? Here are some ideas…

  • No celery? – you can use fennel for a similar crunchy texture with a slight anise flavor or you could also use jicama.
  • No walnuts? – sub other toasted nuts such as pecans, slivered or sliced almonds, cashews, or toasted pumpkin seeds to make it nut free.
  • No fresh mint? – you can also use fresh basil.
  • If grapes are expensive, you can use all one color such as all green grapes or all red grapes.
  • For the best flavor, let the salad chill covered in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Serving Ideas

This flavorful grape salad can be served as a side dish for just about any summer or fall meal. Because it’s very refreshing and light, I highly recommend serving it along side creamy pasta dishes such as my creamy corn pasta, mexican street corn pasta salad (df), or creamy spinach and sun dried tomato pasta to balance them out.

For a great summer meal, serve the grape salad with zucchini bruschetta and bbq salmon bites.

It would also be delicious as a side for crispy shrimp tacos, chicken caesar burgers, or pesto chicken flatbread.
